The U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he is conducting the most severe policy towards Russia compared with his predecessors. He said it to the journalists on Wednesday, July 18, as Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“There was no such tough President concerning Russia like me,” he said.
According to him, Vladimir Putin knows it well and he “is not satisfied with it”.
“I think that Putin is aware of this, better than everyone else, than the mass media certainly. He realizes this and he is not satisfied with it, and he should not be,” the American President said.
Earlier, the U.S. Congress urged Trump to counterwork Russian aggression along with NATO. This statement followed the joint Putin-Trump press conference.
Before that, the Senator from the Democratic Party called for listening to Trump’s translator at the meeting with Putin.
Reportedly, the U.S. and Russia’s Presidents met in Helsinki and talked tete-a-tete.
Mass media condemned this meeting. Trump was called “Putin’s poodle” and “a betrayer”, the meeting, in general, was described as “shame”.
