The U.S. President Donald Trump called his relationships with the leader of DPRK Kim Jong Un “warm”. Moreover, he said he did not see any reasons for the restoration of military drills with the country, as Reuters reports.
“Nonetheless, the President believes that his relationship with Kim Jong-un is a very good and warm one, and there is no reason at this time to be spending large amounts of money on joint US-South Korea war games," the message says.
At the same time, it was noted that Trump could resume the joint drills with South Korea and Japan immediately if he wants to.
“If he does, they will be far bigger than ever before,” the news agency reads.
Earlier, John Bolton, the Advisor of the U.S. President, stated that Trump was ready to meet with Kim “any time”.
Earlier, the first-ever meeting of the current U.S. President and North Korean leader took place on June 12 in Singapore. The main topics of the summit are the denuclearization of DPRK and the reduction of tensions between the states.
Before the summit, Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump exchanged the historical handshake against the U.S. and North Korean flags. The leaders talked face-to-face in the presence of the translators and later the advisers and high-level officials joined them.
