Trump announces upcoming deliveries of Covid-19 vaccine

U.S. President Donald Trump said that the supply of coronavirus vaccine could begin the following week. He stated this in a video address to the military.

"We are overcoming the coronavirus curve. The deliveries of the vaccine will start literally next week and the week after," said Trump

Front-line workers, medical personnel will be the first to have access to the vaccine. The vaccine will also be offered to older people who are at the highest risk.

As we reported earlier, the European Union intends to hold the first vaccinations against coronavirus by the end of December.

“The European Commission by now has secured contracts with six companies. The first European citizens might already be vaccinated before the end of December…Member States have to prepare the logistics for the eventual deployment of hundreds of millions of doses,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, Russian developers of Sputnik V urge the British-Sweden pharmaceutical AstraZeneca Company to combine its vaccine-candidate with the Russian one to increase the efficacy of the drug.
