Helping Ukraine to implement economic reforms was among the issues that U.S. President Donald Trump discussed at a meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the G20 summit. This was reported by the White House press office, according to Ukrinform.

"... the president met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel to discuss a wide range of issues. In particular, the threatening activities of Iran in the Middle East, the stabilization of Libya and the Sahel region, as well as support for economic reforms in Ukraine," the White House said.

In addition, Trump and Merkel reviewed the current state of the US-China negotiations, as well as the need to establish "fair standards" for global trade.

It also became known that at the meeting of the presidents of the United States and Russia on the margins of the G20 summit, the topic of Ukrainian sailors was raised.

At a meeting with Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of G20 summit, US President Donald Trump raised the issue of Ukrainian sailors kept at a Russian prison. This was announced by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, as Interfax agency reported.

“This topic was touched upon, it was raised by President Trump,” Peskov said.

According to him, Putin gave the U.S. President "all the necessary explanations concerning Ukrainian sailors" detained by the Russian authorities in the Kerch Strait last year.
