The correspondent said that Varenytsia died on February 20 on Instytutska Street near the National Bank of Ukraine. Research ballistics announced at the hearing that he died from a gunshot wound. The bullets were fired from a sniper rifle.

According to prosecutors, this evidence is sufficient to bring to justice one of the Berkut officers, but not those who are accused now.

The Lawyers of the officers stated that their clients will testify against former colleagues, but they are not involved in the murder of Varenytsia.
