Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk linked the weakening of hryvnia before the New Year with speculative demand, but in 2020 he expects the trend to strengthen the national currency to continue. The Minister stated this in an interview to Ukraine 24.

“I think that the trend towards strengthening the hryvnia will continue in the next year. I associate this with the fact that the population and businesses are gradually gaining confidence in the state,” Honcharuk noted.

In an interview, the prime minister also said that he considers the main task for 2020 the construction of roads in Ukraine. He stressed that in 2020, the challenge is to build  ,000 km of roads, "although more can be done."

Earlier he said that Ukraine will receive a loan from the International Monetary Fund in the coming months.
