The United States stands for Ukraine and its territorial integrity; the U.S. administration hopes for full implementation of Minsk agreements and the ceasefire. U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said that during telephone conversation with Ukrainian leader Petro Poroshenko on Tuesday.

According to the president’s press service, Poroshenko appreciated the American support for Ukraine in the struggle against the Russian aggression in Donbas and the non-recognition of Crimea’s annexation.

The Ukrainian leader also marked that his country and the USA ‘jointly protect the democratic values that unite our countries… which is why the sanctions should remain in place until full restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity.’

The sides agreed to continue bilateral consultations after Tillerson’s visit to Moscow.
