The recent negotiations between the U.S. President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Putin were ‘constructive’; that’s how Secretary of State Rex Tillerson put it at a press briefing before his official meeting with his Saudi colleague.

‘That was a constructive dialogue. The two presidents exchanged views on many details; let’s see what comes next,’ he said.

On May 2, Trump and Putin held a phone conversation; the leaders talked through the latest developments in Syria, opportunities for ceasefire and creation of safety zones for the refugees.
