Three Ukrainian army officers judged for bribery

Pechersk district court of Kyiv chose a restriction measure for those suspected in taking a bribe from an entrepreneur. The culprits will be staying in custody, with the opportunity to be released on bail. The Prosecutor General's Office reported that on August 25.

Chief of the Command Department of Medical Forces is suspected to be the organizer of the entire deal. The company leader of one of the army brigades and a member of the State Inspection of Energy Supervision of Ukraine are the two remaining suspects.

According to the investigation data, the culprits received a bribe from an entrepreneur, in exchange for providing favorable conditions for his company to win a tender for the purchase of medical masks for the army. The "reward" was supposed to make 1 UAH per supply of one mask.

If their guilt is proved, the suspects could face from 7 to 12 years behind the bars, with property confiscation.

The culprits were detained by law enforcers on August 19.
