Three factions promise to protest on Maidan if Zelensky does not explain Steinmeier formula in Parliament

Ukraine's "European Solidarity", "The Voice" and "Fatherland" parliamentary factions urge President Volodymyr Zelensky to explain the Steinmeier formula at the meeting of the Parliament. If the head of state does not give an explanation about the way of application of this "formula", they promise to gather on Maidan in the evening, October 2. This was reported by Ukrainian News citing MP from the European Solidarity Ivanna Klimpush-Tsintsadze.

"We will insist that Mr. Zelensky comes and answers the questions of our society openly here in the parliament, and provides a detailed explanation to all MPs about what is really happening and whether this is really the first step towards Ukraine's capitulation," Klimpush-Tsintsadze said.

The MP noted that European Solidarity is not organizing a protest rally on Independence Square, however, she added that its the protesters are going to meet on Independence Square on Wednesday at 19:00 if Zelensky does not explain the way of application of this "formula".

"If no answers are given, if people don’t know what is happening, then the protests will continue," Klimpush-Tsintsadze said.

As we reported earlier, on October 1, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine approved the text of the Steinmeier formula in response to a letter from Martin Saydik, the OSCE Special Representative to the Tripartite Contact Group.

A letter from the former president of Ukraine and the chairman of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG, Leonid Kuchma, was published by Kommersant, the Russian edition, addressed to the OSCE representative, Martin Sajdik, where allegedly the agreed text of the “Steinmeier formula” was published.
