Three candidates are being considered for the post of Chief of the Central Election Commission of Ukraine- Alina Zagoruyko, Vadym Halaychuk, and Serhii Kalchenko, RBC-Ukraine reports, referring to its sources.
At the same time, according to the agency, Kalchenko has high chances of chairing the CEC.
"I also asked Alina Zagoruyko, Vadym Halychuk, whether they see themselves in the Central Election Commission. They did not give me a specific answer on this issue. When the party is set with the candidates, I, for example, will recommend Serhii Kalchenko, a good expert on Constitutional Law, expert of the Venice Commission", - said Oleksandr Kachura, Deputy Committee on Organization of State Power, Member of the" Servant of the People " fraction.
As it was reported, Alina Zagoruyko, Vadym Halaychuk, and Serhii Kalchenko are acting deputies from the "Servant of the People" who the faction can offer for the positions in the Central Election Commission.
Zagoruyko is a deputy chairman of the Committee on the Organization of State Power, Local Self-Government, Regional Development and Urban Development. Until 2017, was the chief consultant of the CEC Secretariat's Management Board.
Halaychuk is the chief lawyer of Zelensky's election headquarters. First Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada on issues of European integration.
Kalchenko is a lawyer. He has a longtime experience of practical activities and expertise in international technical assistance projects. Participated in the events as the Venice Commission and the Directorate for Human Rights and the Rule of Law of the Council of Europe in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia expert.
