08:41, 21 March 2018

Threats and persecutions of reporters in Ukraine must be carefully investigated. Harlem Desire, the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media said that as quoted by Radio Liberty, as he met with Ukrainian reporters and members of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine.

'Reporters receive a lot of threats. These threats should be investigated, and those who threaten other people should be punished', he said.

Desire added that journalists should not be suffering due to international conflicts - as it happened with Roman Sushchenko who now stays in the illegal detention in Russia.

'Even if there is a conflict between countries, there should always be an information exchange going on... this is why we ask to release Sushchenko', Desire said.
