Thousands of people came to the Church of Christ Resurrection to say goodbye to Roman. They raised hands with flowers in a sign of memory and then left the flowers near the entrance to the church. Many wreaths had signs ‘To Hero of Belarus’.
There were so many people that many of them left their cars a km from the church and walked. In their turn, the drivers were honking to commemorate Bandarenka.
People shouted ‘Long Live Belarus!’, ‘Roma, you are a hero’ and ‘We will not forget, will not forgive’.
Raman Bandarenka was detained at Square of Change on November 11. According to Belsat, the man was taken to the hospital with a closed craniocerebral injury, acute subdural head hematomas, brain hemorrhage. Roman slipped into a coma.
Later, a protest march in memory of activist Raman Bandarenka took place in Belarus, on November 15.
Besides, Brussels is preparing a package of sanctions against Belarus. The decision was made by the member countries' foreign ministers after the death of protester Raman Bandarenka.
