New tariffs on the import of goods from China may be announced tomorrow on Monday 17. The Wall Street Journal reports this with a reference to its own sources.

The cost of additional duties may reach $200 billion, which was previously reported by Bloomberg.

The sources assume that the additional customs rates can amount ten percent, not 25.

Reportedly, the USA introduced 25-percent duties for goods imported from China. American President Donald Trump accused China of the theft of intellectual property and repeatedly stressed that he doesn't like the deficit in trade with Beijing.

It was also noted that the tariffs will be “a serious escalation in a trade war” between Washington and Beijing.

Bloomberg reports that during an interview with Trump the President was asked to confirm this information. In reply, he smiled and said that the sources of the agency “were not so wrong”. Reuters informs that the White House refused to comment Bloomberg’s reports.
