A Trilateral Contact Group meeting has started in Minsk, as press secretary of Ukraine’s representative in Ukraine in the TCG Darka Olifer wrote on Facebook.
Earlier today, meetings of the working subgroups of the TCG took place. One of the main topics of today’s meeting is the opening of a checkpoint in Zolote, Luhansk region.
Zolote checkpoint is equipped and ready to operate since March 31, 2016. The countries of the TCG agreed to open the checkpoint last autumn. 2,000 cars and 5,000 people on foot can go through the checkpoint daily. However, ever since 2016, the “LNR” leaders disrupt the opening of the checkpoint.
It was to be opened on October 20, but the militants have yet again jeopardized the process.
The Ukrainian side, however, started operating at the checkpoint regardless of the provocations.
