Taras Kozak, Member of Ukrainian Parliament from the Opposition Platform - For Life party was questioned by the SBU. This was announced by Kozak himself after the interrogation.

“Today I was questioned under three articles. One article is“ terrorism,” the second is “financing of terrorism", and the third is “legalization of proceeds of crime". This was news to me today,” he said.

Kozak added that all the charges are far-fetched and there are no grounds for them.

In addition, MP commented on yesterday’s decision of the Verkhovna Rada to extend the term of office of members of the National Council on TV.

“Yesterday’s vote in Verkhovna Rada indicates that the Servant of People’s party of power, together with the president, is working against the opposition, against television channels, and against the Opposition Platform - For Life party, because yesterday the powers of an illegitimate council on television and broadcasting were extended,” said the owner of the News holding, which includes 112 Ukraine, NewsOne and ZiK.

According to Kozak, this decision-making speed is explained by the need to legitimize the decisions made by the National Council regarding the 112 Ukraine, NewsOne and ZiK television channels. Kozak promises that the media leadership intends to continue to fight for the right to freely express their opinion in Ukraine.

"We will fight - I personally and all of us together - in a uniquely legal way. Since Ukraine’s independence, there haven’t been such cases of closing the TV channels," he recalled, noting that such actions would not positively affect the image of the authorities.

Kozak insists that all the actions of the National Council are an example of influence on him as the owner of the media, this was felt during interrogation in the Security Service of Ukraine. “The questions were prepared, the management wrote these questions to the investigators,” he told.

The SBU called Kozak because of the intention of NewsOne to hold a teleconference with Russian media, but so far this idea has been completely exhausted: "People wanted to talk, they did not allow them."

Now, Kozak believes, politicians and, in particular, President Volodymyr Zelensky should focus on a more meaningful process of reforming the Ukrainian economy than is currently happening in the "turbo mode". Now the media is talking about the lack of professionalism of the new government, and that is why pressure continues to keep silence about it.

On September 26, the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting adopted an unprecedented decision: it deprived the 112 Ukraine television channel of digital broadcast licenses.

The channel continues to broadcast and is available to its viewers on satellite, cable networks and the Internet.

The decision of the National Council has already been condemned in the European Parliament.
