Dmitriy Peskov, the Spokesperson of the President of the Russian Federation reported that no direct contacts are planned between Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky, as Gazeta.ru reported.
“Concerning (...) the bilateral contacts, we did not receive any particular initiatives. If it is necessary, the contacts on the telephone might be organized operatively,” Peskov said.
Earlier, Peskov announced the conditions for the meeting of Zelensky and Putin.
Besides, Head of Ukraine’s President Office Andriy Yermak stated that the plan of peaceful settlement of Donbas Conflict prepared by Ukraine and Western partners is ready but it should be approved by Russia.
Besides, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the preparation of the Normandy Format meeting. However, in case it does not take place, the leader of the state will find another format of the talks with each side.
On January 12, Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak participated in the meeting of the leaders of the Normandy Format countries that took place in Berlin. Besides, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine and in the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) Heidi Grau participated in the meeting.
The sides discussed the wide range of the issues of agenda – from the safety up to humanitarian issues. The parties noted that the importance of the observance of the ceasefire regime in Donbas.
