Syrian government forces seized the abandoned U.S. military base located in Al Saidiya district. SANA reported that on October 21.

The base consisted of a shooting range, first aid posts, training grounds, guard posts, communication posts and objects for vehicle servicing.

Before leaving the base, the American forces destroyed everything they could not take with them, from weapons to documents.

As is known, on October 9, the Turkish military deployed forces in northern Syria, starting an operation against armed units of Syrian Kurds. Turkish Defense Ministry claimed that the operation aims to set the safety zone, which is a necessary step to bringing peace and security in the region.

Turkey wants to settle up to two million Syrian refugees in this area; currently, these people remain in Turkey. This area also features camps with ISIS supporters, guarded by the Kurds.
