Earlier Pasquier was a speaker on the Russian issue and criticized Russia for many times due to the aggression against Ukraine and violation of the human rights and democratic rights inside the federation. Moreover, she is one of the authors of the joint PACE speakers’ statement with a demand to Russia to release Nadia Savchenko.
At the same time, Liliane Maury Pasquier is well-known for her position to keep and develop the dialogue with Russia. Moreover, she will also head the committee responsible for the negotiations on the lifting of the sanctions from Russian delegation as she becomes the PACE President.
