Sweden could get the first batch of Russia's Sputnik V vaccine in June. Richard Bergstrom, the local coordinator of the vaccination campaign said so in an interview with Aftonbladet.
"It's quite possible that those who get vaccinated last are going to get this vaccine. It seems to be quite promising, as the estimated efficiency is on the level of approximately 93 percent", he said.
Bergstrom assumes it could be a nice addition to the vaccination plan in Sweden. He said he already negotiated about the use of Sputnik V in Sweden. Currently, it remains unknown if the complex deal between the EU and Russia will be made, or the two states would agree on the supply mechanisms.
Earlier, we wrote that the governments of EU member countries consider the opportunity of negotiations with Sputnik V manufacturing companies. It will take the requests from four EU member countries to start the process.
In turn, the Kremlin said that the U.S. prepares to launch the discreditation campaign against the use of the Russian vaccine in Europe.
