The North Atlantic alliance supports the idea of sending UN peacekeepers to Ukraine. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said this after the meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

"I welcome the proposal to send UN peacekeepers to Ukraine, supported by Ukraine. The Russian proposal is "on the table," he told reporters.

Earlier, President Petro Poroshenko, after meeting with his American counterpart Donald Trump, said that the United States fully supports the Ukrainian version of the introduction of peacekeepers in Donbas.

We recall, the UN Security Council on September 20 approved the reform of the mechanism of peacekeeping operations.
