The State Investigation Bureau launched 5,794 criminal proceedings over three months of the last year. The report for the previous year by the State Investigation Bureau says this.
“The first criminal proceedings were opened under the accusation of possible obtaining of illegal benefits and illegal benefits of particularly large amounts by law enforcement officers (part 3 of article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)’, the report said.
According to the report, 610 suspicions were announced and 499 indictments were passed over three months in 2018.
Earlier, over 30 MPs of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine were involved in the criminal proceedings investigated by State Investigation Bureau (SIB).
The State Investigation Bureau launched the criminal proceeding against the General Prosecutor Yuriy Lutsenko on possible disclosing of the information about the investigation of the murder of activist Kateryna Hanzdiuk.
Besides, the SIB launched pre-trial investigation after journalists published information about the bribing of law enforcement officials. The investigators of the SBI started a pre-trial investigation of receiving a large bribe by an official, or by previous agreement by a group of people, committed twice, or by extortion of illicit enrichment.
