Oleksiy Arestovych, advisor to the head of the President's Office, has already proposed his second option for renaming Ukraine. On the air of the Politeka channel, he proposed to name the country United Lands of Ukraine.
Justifying his proposal, Yermak's advisor referred here to examples from European countries. The official believes that the authorities should reconsider the regional division of the country and divide it into lands.
"We could be called the United lands of Ukraine. We have a wide open space. We are like Austria and Germany, which consists of lands. We also need such a division. We have geographically separated regions with their own microcultures, with their own subethnos, with their own history. And naming them lands would be just right," said Arestovych.
Note that earlier he proposed to rename Ukraine to Rus-Ukraine.
"Our task is to become Rus-Ukraine. This name has been voiced five times in the president's speech over the past three weeks in Kyiv. Now, if we do this, the rest can be a little worried about," Arestovych said.
Arestovych also speaks of the need to take the "Russians" brand from the Russians.
