The Spanish officials have dismissed President of Catalonian government Carles Puigdemont and the heads of the region’s departments, as Prime Minister of Spain Mariano Rajoy informed after the government session, according to El Pais.

The Spanish government used Article 155 of the Spanish Constitution, which allows to dismiss the heads of Catalonia and introduce direct governing in the region by Madrid.

Catalonia proclaimed the independence on October 27. However, the Spanish Senate stopped the autonomy of Catalonia.
