Spain opens borders for tourists, but not for Ukrainians

The Spanish authorities decided to open their borders to tourists, but only EU citizens can visit the country. This was announced by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, El Pais reported.

The government said that foreigners would be able to visit Spain this month, starting on June 21. A 14-day quarantine will no longer be mandatory for all foreigners, except those coming from Portugal. Authorities plan to open a free regime of visits from July 1.

Regarding the question of opening the borders of Spain to third countries, which include Ukraine, this will also happen from July 1. The Spanish government is considering the level of epidemiological danger, as well as focusing on the principle of reciprocity.

As of June 14 in Spain recorded 243 605 cases of infection with coronavirus. Of these, 27 136 people died and 150 376 were cured.
Earlier France opened the borders for tourists from the EU and a number of other European countries. This was stated in a joint message by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of France, published on the website of the Foreign Ministry.
"In accordance with the recommendations of the European Commission, France from 00:00 on June 15 removes all restrictions on crossing its internal borders," the document says.

It is reported that starting June 15, residents of EU countries, Andorra, Iceland, Monaco, Norway, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, the Vatican, Saint-Martin, San Marino will be able to travel to France without any restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
