Sociology: Six political parties might enter Ukrainian parliament

Four parties confidently pass the electoral barrier; another two are close to the five-percent threshold

Six political parties might enter the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, as a survey of the Social monitoring center, Rating sociological group and Ukrainian Institute of Social Research named after Oleksandr Yaremenko.

Thus, such parties got the highest rating: Volodymyr Zelensky’s Servant of the People got 39,9% votes of interviewed people, who have already made their choice. Opposition platform – For life (Yury Boiko, Vadym Rabinovych, Viktor Medvedchuk) has 10,9%; Petro Poroshenko Bloc Solidarity – 10,6%; Batkivshchyna headed by Yulia Tymoshenko – 9,1%.

Besides, Syla i Chest Party headed by Ihor Smeshko (5,1%) and Gromadyanska Pozytsia headed by Anatoliy Hrytsenko (5,0%) stay in the pass barrier.

3,000 respondents (at the age of 18 years and older) were interviewed, the standard deviation is +/- 1,8%. The survey took place from April 30 up to May 10, 2019.

Zelensky, the popular comedian and actor, won the presidential election in Ukraine in both rounds, held on March 31 and April 28. He scored almost 75 percent of all votes, while his opponent, the incumbent President Petro Poroshenko collected 24,25 percent.

On May 16, the Ukrainian parliament established that Zelensky’s inauguration will take place on May 20 at 10:00 p.m
