Social Insurance Fund stops financing, Ministry of Social Policy claims about hostile takeover

Social Insurance Fund stated that it had forcibly stopped the transfer of funds for providing payment of the insurance benefits to insured persons. This was reported on the fund's website.

As of today, the total amount of calculated costs submitted for financing in 2019, taking into account the arrears at the beginning of the year, amounts to 561,8 million dollars, which exceeds the estimates for the year under the corresponding item of expenditures by 48,9 million dollars.

The Ministry of Social Policy this morning announced a possible attempt of a hostile takeover of the Social Security Fund. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Social Policy.

"The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine is concerned about a possible attempt of a hostile takeover of the Social Insurance Fund of Ukraine," Oleh Koval, Deputy Minister of Social Policy, said in a Facebook post.

As we reported earlier, By 2023, Ukraine should close books on cooperation with the IMF. These are the expectations of Oksana Markarova, the Finance Minister of Ukraine. She said so in an interview with Hromadske.

"My ambitious plan is to manage to complete it (the program with the IMF, - 112 International), so that in 2023 we would not be disturbed by the question when would we get the new loan, being able to provide ourselves instead", Markarova said.
