In November, Andrej Kiska, President of Slovakia, will visit Ukraine. Pavlo Klimkin, Foreign Minister of Ukraine, claimed this at the joint briefing with his Slovakian colleague Miroslav Lajcak as 112 Ukraine reported.
"Next month, the president of Slovakia will be here, in Ukraine. The anniversary of Holodomor is very important. By the way, a lot of our friends will be there. We expect that the Prime Minister of Moldova will also come. So, this gesture is really special for us," Klimkin noted.
The Holodomor lasted for 17 months – from April 1932 to November 1933. The researchers have not defined the number of victims yet. They name the numbers from 1,8 million to 10 million. Most of the experts believe that the number of victims is from 3 to 3,5 million.
Many countries, including some states in the U.S. and governments of particular cities recognized Holodomor of 1932-1933 as the act of genocide of the Ukrainian nation.
