The court in Kyiv released Oleksiy Alyakin, the husband of Anna Skorokhod, the Verkhovna Rada MP from the "Servant of the People" faction under night house arrest. The court made such a decision on Friday. The meeting was broadcasted by 112 Ukraine.
The Prosecutor’s Office insisted on the extradition arrest of Alyakin.
The court decided to choose the restrictive measure for him in the form of the night house arrest, in other words, from 9 p.m. until 7 a.m.
The Prosecutor’s Office will appeal against this decision.
Replying to journalists' questions about whether Alyakin was satisfied with the court decision, he said:
“Yes, but I’m just tired now, and probably... How can I be dissatisfied with the fact that I was released?".
He also noted that he had not yet seen a court decision and he highly appreciated the chances of political asylum in Ukraine.
"I hope so, first of all, it is not me who makes the decision. I can only submit documents, and the decision is made directly by the commission," Alyakin noticed.
Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainian lawmakers Anna Skorokhod and Anton Polyakov have been excluded from Servant of the People parliamentary faction. The MPs themselves confirmed this information by talking to the press on November 15. The party claimed the lawmakers violated the agreement to vote along with the rest of their fellow MPs.
