The NATO civilian security commission is actively discussing situation in Ukraine. This was stated by the French Republican Senator Joëlle Garriaud-Maylam during a briefing after the presentation of "The Normandy format: Parliamentary Dimension" at a meeting with members of the French Senate, the National Assembly and representatives of diplomatic and business circles of France.
"I am happy that there is such an initiative. I believe that it is really extremely important that parliamentarians also participate in the search for a way out of the crisis and in the search for peace in Ukraine. In France we are all very concerned about this issue, and of course we all wish so that the Minsk agreements are implemented and that a solution to a peaceful settlement is found.
In addition, not only here in parliament, but also in other structures these issues are actively discussed. For example, I participate in one of the five commissions of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. This is civilian security commission, which also regularly talks on situation in Ukraine. At each meeting, we literally discuss the Ukrainian issue, invite experts, parliamentarians to speak, "she said.
“By the way, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly will hold a meeting in Ukraine soon, and we will also discuss the issues that we mentioned today. And I hope to invite the participants of today's meeting, Ukrainian MPs to this meeting of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Ukraine. To together we will made progress in resolving these issues, "the senator added.
As we reported, on January 23, Chairman of the Political Council of the Opposition Platform - For Life Party, MP Viktor Medvedchuk in Paris held a presentation of the Normandy Format Parliamentary Dimension, where he met with members of the French Senate, National Assembly and representatives of diplomatic and business circles of France.
