Shulyak’s interview: ‘I did my best not to let people on Maidan die’

According to him, he ordered Omega Special Forces officers to immediately establish a place from where the shooting was conducted

Former commander of the Interior Troops of Ukraine Stanislav Shulyak said that he did everything possible to prevent casualties on Maidan on February 20. He stated this during the interview via videoconference with Rostov court.

"I did my best to prevent people from dying. Work has been done with the personnel of the manifestation of endurance, tolerance in the response. When I learned that people began to die from a gunshot fire, Omega Special Forces received an order to immediately establish the place where the fire is conducted to prevent the possibility of the use of firearms", Shulyak said.

He said that approximately at 10 am he was aware that there were victims among civilians.
