President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky proposed to appoint Denys Shmygal to the post of Ukraine's Prime Minister. It was announced during the meeting of the Servant of the People faction, 112 Ukraine TV channel reports.
After the meeting of the faction, Ukraine's MP from the ruling Servant of the People faction Mykhailo Radutsky said that the faction supported the proposal and voted to approve Shmygal’s candidacy for the post of the Prime Minister.
Ukraine's MP Oleksandr Dubinsky added that the faction also discussed a number of staff changes in the government. According to him, the post of Ukraine's Minister of Justice will be Denys Malyuk, Minister of Defense - Andriy Taran, Arsen Avakov will remain the Minister of Internal Affairs, Timofey Milovanov - Minister of Industry, Roman Zhukovsky - Minister of Economics, Ilya Emets - Minister of Health, Vadym Gutzeit - Minister of Sport.
However, Radutsky noted that officially the Servant of the People has only approved Shmygal's candidacy.
"Shmygal is the only official candidate," Mykhailo Radutsky said.
The agenda of the extraordinary plenary meeting consists of issues about activity of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, the State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, the Office of the Attorney General in the field of fighting corruption in Ukraine and strengthening the rule of law.
Also, Dmytro Razumkov received a letter of resignation by current Ukraine's Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk. During the meeting of the ruling Servant of the People faction, which is still underway, the head of Ukraine's parliament Dmytro Razumkov said that the Prime Minister was asking for his dismissal from his post.
Honcharuk's request also regards the opportunity to consider the resignation of any of the ministers during the session slated for March 4.
Currently, the court is deciding what kind of legal ground could be used for actions to grant the motion.
