The Servant of the People Party, as well as the MPs elected from it, did not hold any consultations with representatives of the Russian legislative or executive branch. This was reported by the party representatives, Interfax-Ukraine informs.
“We do not plan such consultations in the future, with the exception of established international formats, within which such contacts cannot be avoided,” the party said.
It is reported that the Servant of the People indicated that negotiations with Russia on behalf of Ukraine can be conducted only by the President of Ukraine or persons authorized to conduct such negotiations in accordance with his orders and current legislation.
It is noted that the MPs are warned about the inadmissibility of personal contacts with the current representatives of the Russian authorities. "Even attempts to establish such contacts will be considered as a violation of factional discipline and party principles."
The party noted that the position of the Servants of the People regarding contacts with representatives of the Russian authorities can only be changed if progress in de-escalating the situation between countries is made - the release of Ukrainian sailors, prisoners of war and political prisoners, and a sustainable ceasefire in Donbas.
Earlier, the State Duma of the Russian Federation reported that some parliamentarians from Ukraine from the bloc of President Zelensky contacted them, but did not call their names.
