Servant of the People party refused from the state funding of their activity in 2020. The party's press office stated this on Telegram.

"We ask to re-assign the entire amount of budget funding of the party to the Stabilization Fund created by the Cabinet, and reassign this money for the needs of Ukrainian medics who now fight with the pandemic of coronavirus", said Oleksandr Korniyenko, the first deputy head of the parliamentary faction.

The overall amount makes 7.5 million U.S. dollars. According to the Servant of the People's statement, the government will be able to provide doctors with enough protective devices, pay for the extra working shifts in conditions of the pandemic or spend them otherwise - as long as the Ukrainian medics consider these ways as priorities.

The political force added that any party that made it to the Parliament received compensation of their expenses on last year's parliamentary campaign. Such parties already received funding over the first quarter of this year. So these funds should be enough to fund the parties' activities in 2020.

"Of course, that's actually less than the sum of state funding; we'll have to refuse from a numbert of initiatives. But these problems are just tiny ones - in comparison with the challenges that Ukraine and Ukrainians are facing now", the party claims.
