The Ukrainian Parliament fired Serhiy Besarab from the office of the Minister for Veteran Affairs. 251 MPs supported the decision, with 226 necessary to pass.

The official was appointed as the Minister in March 2020. Prior to that, he served as the commander of anti-terrorist operation in Donbas, deputy chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, first deputy commander of Ukraine's Ground Forces, chief of North territorial department, etc. Besarab is in the rank of Lieutenant General.

Yesterday, it became known that he filed a resignation letter.

Earlier, we reported that Ihor Umansky, the Counselor of the Head of the President's Office has resigned. He posted that on Facebook.

The official did not specify the reason for such decision.

Ihor Umansky has served in the branch of executive power of Ukraine since 1997. He twice worked as First Deputy Finance Minister (2008-2010; 2014-2015), Acting Finance Minister (2009-2010) and Finance Minister (March 2020).
