Ukrainian political prisoner Oleg Sentsov sentenced to 20 years at the hard labor colony was discharged from the medical unit as TASS reported citing the regional department of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia.
“In accordance with the recommendations of the attending physician, Sentsov was transferred from the medical unit to the prison for the further serving of the sentence,” the message said.
The representatives of the Federal Penitentiary Service state that Sentsov is in the satisfactory condition and can be enlisted to work.
Sentsov has been serving time in Labytnangi penal colony since 2015. The Russian court found him guilty of the alleged preparations of terrorist acts in the occupied Crimea. The inmate demanded to release all Ukrainian political prisoners and announced a hunger strike, which lasted for 145 days. The starvation inflicted serious damage to his health, resulting in organic changes to his heart, liver and kidneys.
