Natalya Kaplan, sister of Ukrainian filmmaker and political prisoner Oleg Sentsov, claimed that she did not say on Tuesday briefing that her brother was in the intensive care unit of Labytnangi penal colony. She posted this on Facebook.
'I passed the two weeks-old information about Oleg's health conditions, because this actually is the latest news. If some journalists chose not to speak about the film but to re-print the rumour of his close death, posing it as news - well, then they are the ones to be asked questions,' shge wrote.
She confirmed that Sentsov is having a bad time, and she asked the reporters to avoid the manipulations.
'Quitting a hunger strike is a very complicated process; yes, his health was undermined, but what's new about it?', she wondered.
As we reported, Kaplan told the press Sentsov was in the intensive care unit in the penal colony in norterhn Russia amid the emergence from the long-term hunger strike. According to her, the hunger strike led to the irreversible consequences of his health, including the ischemia and cardiac arrhythmia, problems with liver, stomach, and other organs.
