Oleg Sentsov, the Ukrainian film director commented on the recent release and exchange of political prisoners between Ukraine and Russia.
"It (the exchange, - 112 International) is in no case spontaneous or accidental. The work's been in progress all these years - almost from the very first days. A lot of work was done, so one should not consider our case as separate. Yes, there were many of us, and we (Sentsov and Kolchenko, - 112 International) spent more time there, but it would be wrong. Others were liberated, too, by the efforts of the previous administration; but in those cases, the progress stalled, and one has to understand it. And currently, as the new government came to power, Russia has a chance to re-boot these relations. Mr. Zelensky is making a step forward as well, and I see he wants to solve this conflict sincerely - for the sake of this country without failing to protect its interests. And it's the right thing to do. Like I said, a hundred years of negotiations are better than one day of the war", Sentsov said.
"As for Russia's alleged wish for peace...as much as the wolf wears the sheepskin, be sure that he still has his fangs. Do not believe it. I don't", he concluded.
