Oleg Sentsov, the Ukrainian filmmaker brought his diary with him - the same that he kept making records in during the starving campaign in Labytnangi penal colony. Sentsov himself said so at the first press conference since his release; he hosted it together with Oleksandr Kolchenko.
"During the hunger strike, it happens that you have thoughts of something to write about. I began making records in my diary on the third day of a hunger strike. I recorded everything that took place there, some memories. It was a huge risk, they could take it anytime. They searched for me every day. But it's there, it exists, I took it with me", Sentsov said.
He added that gradually, the diary will be published. "Sooner or later, it will be released, not until next year, I guess", he said.
On September 7, Ukraine and Russia exchanged prisoners in the 35-for-35 format. The list of released Ukrainians includes 24 sailors detained in Kerch Strait in November 2018, and 11 political prisoners, including Oleg Sentsov.
