On June 9, the Kyiv Court of Appeals held a hearing to consider Semen Semenchenko's defense complaint, after which the former MP stated that he shared his combat experience with the Belarusian opposition, allegedly on the instructions of Ukrainian intelligence. This was reported by Strana Telegram-channel.
It is noted that the meeting was short and ended 10 minutes after the start.
Two of the three judges recused themselves, as they are involved in a criminal case in which Semenchenko's lawyer Vladyslav Dobush is also involved. New judges must now be appointed, and it is unknown when the next hearing will take place.
At the end of the meeting, Semenchenko stated that he was being interrogated at the request of the State Security Committee of the Republic of Belarus. At the same time, he stated that he shared with representatives of the Belarusian opposition his combat experience on the instructions of Ukrainian intelligence.
On March 24, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed and stopped the activities of the so-called private military company - a paramilitary armed formation not provided by law. Former MP of Ukraine Semen Semenchenko and National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) "agent" Yevhen Shevchenko are suspected of organizing private military company.
On March 26, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv has chosen a measure of restraint for the former MP Semen Semenchenko. The court sent Semenchenko to a pre-trial detention center for 2 months without the right to post bail. Later it was reported that Semenchenko stays in the hospital.
On April 3, Semenchenko was transferred from the hospital to the remand center.
On May 14, the SBU has solved the terrorist act, particularly, the shooting at 112 Ukraine TV channel building committed in July 2019. The pretrial investigation established that the shooting at the building of the TV channel was organized by Semen Semenchenko.
