The SBU, Security Service of Ukraine detained a member of Islamic State terrorist organization. The man was apprehended in Odesa region, southern Ukraine. Press office of the SBU reported that on September 9.
Law enforcers found out that the culprit came from Eastern Asia; he is wanted by the Interpol for the crimes related to funding terrorist activity.
According to the SBU, in 2014-2016, the man was in Turkey, and the ISIS recruited him there. Fleeing from teh Interpol, he came to Ukraine, breaching the requirements of this country's migration law.
The court decided to arrest and extradite the man.
Last year, one of the ISIS leaders was detained in Kyiv. in 2018, a man illegally arrived in Ukraine using forged documents. In the Kyiv region, he created a criminal group, which included immigrants from the countries of Central Asia.
