The second clause of the Paris Climate Agreement has already begun to be implemented by Ukraine on behalf of President Volodymyr Zelensky. This was stated by the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Olexiy Danilov during a briefing on July 30.
"On behalf of the President of Ukraine, we must reduce emissions, develop a green economy, develop the modern world and move together with all the countries of the civilized world that have signed the Paris Agreement," Danilov said.
He reminded that Ukraine at one time assumed obligations in relation to the Paris Agreement.
A week ago the G7 ambassadors called on Ukraine to contribute to the UN conference on climate change, also known as COP26, which will be held in Glasgow from October 31 to November 12 this year.
This month, the European Commission (EC) unveiled its 2050 climate change agenda, named Fit for 55.
Charles Michel, President of the European Council, has called on the leaders of the G7 countries to raise climate spending to the equivalent of $ 100 billion.
