SBU prevents attempt of Russia to hold anti-Ukrainian campaign in Brussels

Kremlin masterminds organized and financed the campaign

The workers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the National Police prevented the attempt of the holding of the anti-Ukrainian campaign in Brussels that was organized and financed by Kremlin. The press service of the SBU reported this.

The law enforcements defined that the special services of Russia planned to hold the campaign in Brussels to discredit Ukraine in front of the European community to accuse the Ukraine’s authorities in the oppression of the journalists and free press.

‘A few citizens of Ukraine arrived in Brussels to take part in the roundtable on topic ‘Violation of human rights, restriction of press liberty and political repression in Ukraine’. The organizers planned to hold the broadcast from Kyiv while the paid-up bloggers and journalists will confirm the information on the oppression and prosecutions to strengthen the effect of the speeches at the roundtable’, the press service reported.

The SBU added that the bloggers and journalists were employed at the black labor market by the organizers for 3.7 dollars for each person.

‘The mentors obliged the people to wear sunglasses to prevent the identification of people by the European partners. The only well-known person for the community is a former MP from the Party of Regions Olena Bondarenko. She refused to witness but the employed people did this instead of her’, the SBU added.

The SBU also said that they plan to question the organizers of the fake campaign to record the illegal activity of the Russian special services.
