Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) detained its own employees, who, according to the agency, attacked Ukrainian border guards in the Sumy region, near the Russian border on the night of July 18. This was reported by the SBU press service in a commentary to the Interfax-Ukraine agency.
Body representatives reported that the special service revealed the involvement of two of its employees in the attack on a border detachment in the Sumy region. The detainees have already been transferred to the investigating authorities.
"The SBU itself exposed the persons - after all, such behavior is unacceptable for the Service. At the time of the pre-trial investigation, both participants in the attack, who are employees of the Service, were suspended from work," the SBU said.
Earlier it was reported that on Sunday night, on the state border with the Russian Federation in the Sumy region, two men attacked employees of the State Border Service of Ukraine. The violators took possession of the service weapons of the border guards.
