The Security Service of Ukraine claimed that the pre-trial investigation in the case of Semen Semenchenko. The law enforcers claimed that the criminal proceeding was made under four articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Press office of the agency reported that on September 29.
The investigation concerned eight more individuals whose names were not revealed immediately.
The special service claimed that Semenchenko and other suspects will possibly face chages on the following articles of Criminal Code:
- creation or membershipo in an illegal armed formation;
- terrorist act;
- misuse of weapons, ammunition or explosives;
- breach of order of international passage of goods that are due to state export control.
The agency added that all the suspects are now looking into the case materials.
Earlier, we reported that former lawmaker Semen Semenchenko, a suspect in the creation of private military company was released from custody and placed under house arrest. He wrote that himself on his Facebook.
On March 24, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed and stopped the activities of the so-called private military company - a paramilitary armed formation not provided by law. Former MP of Ukraine Semen Semenchenko and National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) "agent" Yevhen Shevchenko are suspected of organizing private military company.
On March 26, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv has chosen a measure of restraint for the former MP Semen Semenchenko. The court sent Semenchenko to a pre-trial detention center for 2 months without the right to post bail. Later it was reported that Semenchenko stays in the hospital.
