The Ukraine’s member of Parliament Nadiya Sanchenko is expelled from the Batkivshchyna faction in the Verkhhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Ukrainian parliament, says the announcement of the faction, distributed by the press service of the political force.
"The Batkivshchyna Party listed Nadiya Savchenko in our electoral list during parliamentary elections of 2014 in order to free the Ukrainian woman and officer from Russia’s captivity. Time proved that the high rank of the MP and the member of PACE afforded an opportunity to raise the issue on the highest world policy level and led to her release together with the struggle of the Ukrainian people,” reads the message.
“If we could turn back time, we would do the same to free Savchenko. However we see in life that Nadiya Savchenkos’ principles and political opinions do not coincide with those of Batkivshchyna. Specifically, Batkivshchyna is strongly against any negotiations with terrorists, against amnesty of the murders of the Ukrainians, against legalization of military groups in Donbas,” says the faction statement.
Ukrainian MP Nadiya Savchenko, former officer of Ukraine’s Air Force, secretly visited Minsk on December 7 for a behind-the-closed-doors meeting with leaders of pro-Kremlin separatists.
