President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a phone talk with President of Finland Sauli Niinistö, discussing the employment of the Ukrainian guest workers as the President’s Office reported.

Niinistö thanked the Ukrainian side for cooperation in the issues of the involvement of the Ukrainians to the seasonal agrarian works in Finland. In his turn, Zelensky underlined that the position of Ukraine is based on the provision of the safety conditions for the Ukrainians in the terms of coronavirus pandemic and legalization of the labor migration.

“I really appreciate that we have agreed with Finland on legal contracts for more than three months, registration of health insurance and comfortable quarantine,” Zelensky said.

Besides, the Ukrainian leader noted that seasonal cooperation becomes an important direction of the bilateral interaction of Ukraine and Finland and confirmed the interest in the establishment of the dialogue in the forestry management.

“Ukraine has submitted to the Finnish side a draft intergovernmental agreement on employment and cooperation in the field of labor migration. I ask for your assistance in speeding up the preparation of this document for signing," Zelensky added.

During the phone talk, Sauli Niinistö also invited Zelensky to visit Finland after the end of the pandemic.

As we reported, Ukraine expects about $ 10 billion of income from the labor migrants in 2020.
