Sandu demands to find Ukrainian judge Chaus kidnapped in Moldova

Moldovan leader Maia Sandu demands that the Interior Ministry and Information and Security Service take urgent action to find the kidnapped Ukrainian judge Mykola Chaus. The president left the respective message on Facebook.

"It is unacceptable that people get kidnapped in Moldova - no matter if they are citizens of the country or not, no matter whether their guilt in a crime is proven", Sandu wrote.

Chaus was kidnapped in Moldova on April 3.

Chaus has been staying in Moldova since November 2016. Initially, he claimed that he stayed in this country under the security guuarantees, but then he asked for political asylum. The-then president Igor Dodon refused to grant it, but Chaus filed an appeal against this decision.

In March, it became known that Moldova's Supreme Court rejected the judge's appeal.
