The appeal of the Ukrainian Parliament to the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine concerns only the founders of 112 Ukraine and NewsOne TV channels. Oleksandr Turchynov, the Secretary of National Defense Council said this to reporters at a briefing, Interfax-Ukraine reports

'The Ukrainian Parliament has the right to turn to the Council with the initiative of imposing sanctions, and it acted within its authorities. So far, we haven't got the official text of this decision, but given what we discussed, the sanctions will be approved solely against the founders of these channels', Turchynov said.

The official added that the ownership structure of 112 Ukraine and NewsOne is quite complicated, but 'there are non-residents of Ukraine'.

The staff of 112 Ukraine TV channel insists that the steps made by the Ukrainian Parliament, which aim to apply sanctions against 112 Ukraine TV channel are nothing but a political decision; there is not enough evidence to make such decision, which badly lacks argumentation and may be considered unconstitutional.
