The Mayor of Lviv, Ukrainian presidential candidate Andriy Sadovy published a video in which he was outraged by the quality of roads in Ukraine. At the same time, Lviv residents also complain that even recently paved roads have broken down with the snow.
Lviv citizens say that their wallet suffers from the quality of roads, so the lawsuits against the city with claims to reimburse the cost of repairing broken cars have become more frequent.
“There are appeals to the court for reimbursement, because people break their cars on bad roads. We see a situation when the city authorities are trying to put up a good front in a bad game,” Lyubomyr Melnychuk, head of the Lviv cell of Svoboda Party says.
Even the roads that have been repaired recently were damaged, but the contractors are in no hurry to correct their mistakes, because the warranty period was only two years.
The deputy of the Lviv City Council, head of the People’s Control faction wonders why contractors were hired on such unfavorable conditions for the city. “Two years are from their funds, and then the community money and budget funds? Today in Lviv the situation with roads is catastrophic, to put it mildly. Mismanagement! This is due to the fact that the Mayor does not have time to work on services in Lviv,” he said.
In the meantime, flashmobs are held in Lviv - activists fill pits on the streets with colored balloons. The activists put in the masks of Lviv officials, poured paint over the hollow spots and put there water balloons symbolizing asphalt.
